I was born and raised in Hawke’s Bay and I returned from Wellington with my wife in 2008. I worked in both large and small firms, before realising I could offer the best legal service by operating solo and collaborating with others when necessary.
Working on my own means there aren’t the overheads or the formality of a large firm, and I make the most of this by meeting with clients where and when it suits them.
I love being part of the thriving Hawke’s Bay community and am happy to serve on the council of the Hawkes Bay branch of the New Zealand Law Society, and as chairman of Film Hawkes Bay. I also play guitar (it keeps me in touch with my younger self) and social golf.
I’m really interested in the changing way we work – getting out of the office and out of the nine-to-five mindset. I intend to undertake more research on this, and like to think my own practice is an example of where things are heading.
